What is PRF?
PRF stands for Platelet-Rich Fibrin. It has become very popular and has quickly replaced PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma).
PRF is obtained by drawing your blood and spinning it in the centrifuge, where all the nutrients and growth factors in the blood separate out from the red blood cells. This plasma is then injected in places where we hope to stimulate collagen production.
Are there any side effects?
PRF is a 100% all natural injection. The most common side effects are redness, swelling, discomfort and bruising that may last a couple of days after the procedure.
What is the difference between PRP and PRF?
PRF is 100% all natural, spun in the centrifuge at a slower rate than PRP to preserve cell vitality.
PRF injections allows for a slower, longer release of growth factors, allowing for better results than PRP injections.
What should I expect at my appointment?
Be sure to eat and hydrate prior to your appointment, as you should expect to have your blood drawn. We will provide numbing cream to the areas that will be treated. The numbing cream will have time to activate while the blood is spinning in the centrifuge. The PRF will then be properly prepared for injection.
How long does PRF last?
Multiple treatments are needed with PRF procedures. Usually these treatments are every 4-6 weeks. Maintenance treatments should be carried out every 6 months. Results can last 1-2 years, and individual results may vary.
What should I do after my PRF injections?
Do not touch or rub the treated area for at least 8 hours after the treatment.
Avoid anti-inflammatory medications for 2 weeks after your procedure (Aspirin, Advil, Aleve, Naprosyn, Ibuprofen, Motrin). Also avoid using ice on injected areas because this will also act as an anti-inflammatory. You may take Tylenol if you experience pain or discomfort. If you take Aspirin for cardiac reasons, please continue to take your Aspirin as prescribed.
Avoid alcohol, caffeine and smoking for three days after the treatment, smoking reduces that effectiveness of the treatment and slows healing time.

How many treatments will I need?
The timeline for your treatment plan varies based on factors such as the severity of your hair loss, age, hormonal balance, and genetic predisposition. Typically, your treatment will begin with three monthly sessions, followed by a check-up in four to six months, and annual maintenance sessions thereafter. Over the course of a year, you'll experience continuous hair growth, with significant changes typically visible around six months after treatment. This enhanced hair growth results in a fuller and healthier-looking appearance. Hair growth supplements such as Nutrafol may also complement your regimen.
What should I do before my treatment?
Please refrain from using anti-inflammatory medications like aspirin, naproxen, or ibuprofen for at least three days prior to your exosome treatment. Additionally, avoid washing your hair for at least 12 hours and abstain from using any hair care products on the day of your appointment. Ensure adequate hydration by drinking plenty of water the day before your treatment to optimize exosome absorption. Experience natural hair regrowth within two to three months, with continued improvement over the following year.
What should I do after my treatment?
To protect your scalp from sunlight, wear a loose hat or hood for at least 24 hours following the procedure. Maintain hydration and a balanced diet on your treatment day. Refrain from vigorous exercise for 24-48 hours afterward to minimize swelling. You can shower normally and resume your regular hair care routine the day after the procedure, and you can return to work either the same or next day. Avoid anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen or naproxen for three weeks post-treatment. Within 24 hours after treatment, avoid alcohol, tobacco, salty, and sugary foods. Refrain from washing your hair for at least one to two days, and avoid hot water, scalp massaging, or any actions that may disturb hair follicles.
